Gangster Whisky evokes the uncontested passion for Scottish traditions as the ground for making a brilliant spirit made out of malted grains carefully aged in wooden casks.
It traces the history of Scottish emigration to the United States and the path walk of traditional family distilling methods brought from the Old World at the time of Prohibition. Stigmatized at the bottom of social ladder, Scots have created fame of pugnacious and strong character. Nonetheless they have persisted on the values of their past when facing those hard periods of uncertainty.

Carved with the Pyrenees freezing waters and using ancient distilling traditions, Fox Glacier is inspired by the life of Platón Tchihatcheff, a Russian mountaineer who discovered the highest peak of the Pyrenees after weeks observing the behaviour of Red Foxes in the region.

Platón’s drinking finding, a legacy recipe from his Andorra born grandmother, kept body and mind resistant in extreme adventures. As he started sharing the liquid with the foxes, noticed these experienced intensifying  mental abilities… The pure Pyrenees waters combined with the canniness of the Red Foxes brings the spur to expand life in your next Adventure!

Monte das Janelas Extra Virgin Olive Oil is taken exclusively from Galega olive type, thus being one of a kind, since this olive category is becoming rare given it can’t be harvested for mass production, as for instance Arbequina or Cobrançosa do. These trees which are spread in Portugal in Alentejo, Ribatejo and Trás-os-Montes, require space to breathe and take the best nutrients from the soils, giving origin to a thicker, dense and aromatic product.

Our olive oil takes inspiration from our Alentejo property named Monte das Janelas, near the village of Borba. There you can see olive and cork trees as well as vineyards, bringing together aromas we know so well, and that takes us to the past of who we were in the autumn of 1907 when we accomplished our first harvest.

Monte das Janelas Olive Oil therefore is against intensive production regimes, and instead, introduces us to the region of Ribatejo, in a traditional olive grove, with all of its splendor.

Imagine the best sparkling wine you’ve ever tasted. This Blanc de Blancs and Prestige Noir collection from Beira Atlântico is now probably coming to your mind.

Winds of change! From ‘oblivisci’ meaning ‘to forget’, ‘to let go’, in order to move ahead, grow, reinvent, create, celebrate and live!

The wind takes a human personification and blows our balloon, where we embark in a new and unexpected journey of life and opportunities.

Oblivion: a toast to the future!

A true Vinho Verde. We were inspired by three of the most precious stones in the world to make these wines. Different hints that will make you travel.

Discover the horizon, map the way, face challenges, make dreams come true. “Be thine own Palace, or the world´s jail.” John Donne

Our Vinho Verde Collection dives into the precious flavors we have in the northern region of Portugal. With our floral Loureiro Reserva we travel to the Sapphires of Anakie. Then we cross an ocean to find the complexity of our Alvarinho Reserva in the Emeralds of Muzo. Finally, we end our journey tasting a Rosé Reserva as intense as the Rubies of Montepuez.

Therefore, Mina da Juliana is a piece of paradise where we went many times as a family and still keep stunning memories of that time.

Defacto is the interpretation of Portugal through wine and painting. In both traditions perfectionism and attention to detail have carved some unique arts!

Quoting Sérgio Ramos about his inspiration for creating Defacto:

“How not to go unnoticed by the orange trees on the sidewalks and squares of the city? How to ignore the cats and flowers on the windows sharing attention with the color of the clothes simply hanging along the facades? How to be indifferent to the magnitude of the Douro River estuary, with its blue waters, their fish and their many stories? How not to make a record of the old bicycles parked outside the doors of the old houses? Inspirations that added to the natural and unique light of the city of Porto, complete the perfect background for an artist who uses of everyday themes to tell countless stories with their paints and brushes.”

Defacto is a pure Douro. The grape varieties used respect the terroir’s integrity and the wine comes with an organoleptic essence that transports us directly to the terraced vineyards of the region. The brand poetically refers to the dimensions of Portugal interpreted by the painter Sérgio Ramos gathering in a symbol of life, our best memories of Portugal.

We aimed to create the most authentic Douro wine. In the red wines, enriched by ageing of four and ten months, in the harvest and reserve red wine respectively, excel the intensity of Tinta Barroca, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca and Touriga Nacional. In the freshness of our white wine, fruity and floral notes, persist with the amazing combination of Viosinho, Fernão Pires and Malvasia Fina.

A tree painted with stories told and lived. A symbol of growth and life! The Brazilian painter Sérgio Ramos from a Portuguese family gets inspiration from daily objects, literature, music and architecture. Over a 25-year career, his paintings can be appreciated at atelierdoarquiteto.com and in the excellence of our Defacto.

Batik wine introduces our premium range of Alentejo portfolio. A tailor-made quality product, delivered in exclusive series, which design is oriented by the Batik Art.

Originally drafted in the heart of Africa and southern Asia to make unique and differentiated clothing patterns, today Batik Art comes reinvented in fashion and art ateliers, given its status of sophistication and elegance.

BATIK certified as Grande Reserva or Grande Escolha targets the most exclusive market segment, as a brand-new cult product for a sophisticated audience. 2014 collection, a total of 1260 bottles, all of them packed in a box made out of Portuguese pine with a carved serigraphy, carries a beautiful liquid, with 15 months ageing in French oak followed by 15 months of evolution in the bottle.

Corcovado: 22°57’8.7”S 43°12’42”W – Tijuca rock, 2329ft high. Quoting the late and virtuous Brazilian conductor Antônio Carlos Jobim “a lot of calm to think and time to dream / from the window spots the Corcovado, the redeemer, so beautiful”. This wine is more! It is an anthem to the Portuguese-Brazilian relationship, in the aftermath of 514 years of history.

White Corcovado Premium is a tribute to the grape verdelho subtly blended with arinto and antão vaz. The brand has presence in some of the world’s best gastronomy venues thanks to a single fresh fruit with fruit still green aroma notes and a fresh taste, medium acidity and persistent final.

Corcovado reserve red wine since its debut in 2012, is presented with all care and sophistication. We have thus created a fantastic wine, cabernet sauvignon oriented, with a beautiful grape selection, aged for 12 months in French and American oak and endorsed by the traditional blend that elevates oenology and that includes syrah, aragonez and alicante bouschet in maturities between 6 to 9 months.

In 1807 Napoleon ordered the French invasion of Portugal, so the Royal Family took refuge in Brazil. Fifteen years later Dom Pedro declared independence and founded the Republic of Brazil.

Son of King Dom João, Pedro stayed with the Brazilians and declared the Independence of Brazil on September 7, 1822. He was hailed as his emperor on October 12 and defeated all Portuguese forces until March 1824.

Pedro, the Founder, was the first royal character to live like the people from the lands of Bellow Ecuador. He brought with him the intelligence and education in Latin, French and English, as well as the reading and writing habits, which he practiced daily.

The Founder was a polyvalent protagonist, his routine was created with religious, administrative, political while spending time on artistic, domestic, sports and love activities. Undoubtedly multitask and multipotential.

Curious, optimistic, light, smart, friendly and outgoing, his personality inspired the production of these two wines, which brings the freshness of the tropical tastes to the structure of South European wines.

Imbondeiro or Baobab are the names of the tree of life that can provide over 100ton of water. This wine is a nectar that signals abundance.

God initially planted the Imbondeiro in the bay of Congo, but the tree complained about the constant floods which made its roots swell. Therefore, God took the Imbondeiro to the Moon Mountains in Eastern Africa. But the Imbondeiro kept grumbling about uncomfortable humidity. Then, God got mad, took its swollen trunk, and threw it to a far dry region of Africa. The tree landed upside down, thus keeping its roots ultimately in the air.

Michael Adansonis believed to have been the first botanist to classify the Imbondeiro in Green Cape Archipelago where he found two Imbondeiros aging more than 5150 years, thus elevating the tree´s extreme uniqueness to a longevity symbol.

In Mozambique, Imbondeiro’s hollow trunks were used as houses by entire families… granting protection.

In Madagascar, the Grandidier Imbondeiro (Adansonia Grandidieri) is understood as the spirits’ resting place; therefore, offerings are made and left on its base for lasting assurance of fertility, plentiful harvests and good luck. In Australia it is still used to make instruments.

For all this and more… Imbondeiro comes to you to celebrate Life!

A tribute to ecology, the Giant Black Sable is a rare antelope of the highest mountains, endemic to Africa which can only be found in the province of Majanje.

A region of great altitude, of aromatic plants and green, lush, open country. The plateau of Malanje, land of all creations, is as fertile as the pulse of emotions of her people.

This wine of excellence lends a tribute from the Alentejo to Malanje, celebrating Angola in all her strength, which can be appreciated all over the world.

The Giant Black Sable, a noble African antelope, is found only in the high plains’ region of Angola, between the high Cuanza and Luando river. Hunting it is officially prohibited due to its extreme rarity and to the unequaled elegance of its figure, making it a universal reference.

80 km from Malanje, 450 km from Luanda it is possible to spot Kalandula Falls, the largest in Angola and second in Africa, following Victoria falls, between Zambia and Zimbabwe. When the water plunges from that high, you can see smoke, as if you were in the presence of fire, and you can hear thunders, as if you were in the middle of a storm. In the raining season, between march and april, a perfect rainbow comes into the picture.

This scenario of freshness and authenticity that inspired the creation of white Malanje, produced and bottled in the best Alentejo that exists in Portugal, with traditional fermentation and the best native casts.

Named after the village where we have lands, this collection has its origins on a Lion that was brought by the romans when the Iberian Peninsula was conquered after the second Punic War in 218 B.C.

38ºC degrees, dustlands and the Sun of Zenith. The men help the cork trees, to undress from the cork that will seals our wines. A hot land in the shade of the loneliness of the plain. The hills of Abraito unites cork, vines and olive groves, a brotherhood alliance. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate. And if God himself is for us, who will be against us?  Roman 8:31.

Let the light in. “Use to see her everyday through the window – and it never seemed so beautiful and so womanly”, (from Julio Dantas in Women). From latin, Januella, the diminutive janua, door. For this reason we say: The eyes are the windows of the soul.
